What is the tide? It isn't an object in itself. Give it a name: Tide, and it becomes distinct due to the name. The tide is not a thing. The tide is an effect: felt but when grasped only the water touches us back. The true nature of a tide isn't the water, it’s a mixture of processes related within a dance. It's the moon and earth swinging. It's the sun adding tempo with storms and wind. The water merely flows with the pulling and pushing of gravity, piling up in the beat of what we call the "Tide". The Tao is a tide of tides. Harmony with the Tao means flowing with all the various forces connecting everything seemingly invisible yet still measurable in relative effects.

On Clothes
by Kahlil Gibran
And the weaver said, "Speak to us of Clothes."
And he answered:
Your clothes conceal much of your beauty,
by Kahlil Gibran
And the weaver said, "Speak to us of Clothes."
And he answered:
Your clothes conceal much of your beauty,
yet they hide not the unbeautiful.
And though you seek in garments the freedom of privacy
And though you seek in garments the freedom of privacy
you may find in them a harness and a chain.
Would that you could meet the sun and the wind
Would that you could meet the sun and the wind
with more of your skin and less of your raiment,
For the breath of life is in the sunlight
For the breath of life is in the sunlight
and the hand of life is in the wind.
Some of you say,
Some of you say,
"It is the north wind who has woven the clothes to wear."
But shame was his loom,
But shame was his loom,
and the softening of the sinews was his thread.
And when his work was done he laughed in the forest.
Forget not that modesty is for a shield
And when his work was done he laughed in the forest.
Forget not that modesty is for a shield
against the eye of the unclean.
And when the unclean shall be no more,
And when the unclean shall be no more,
what were modesty but a fetter and a fouling of the mind?
And forget not that the earth delights
And forget not that the earth delights
to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair.

Hey Sweetie,
Happy Hump Day!!!!
Happy Hump Day!!!!
It's a "Let's Get Naked and Go Outdoors" day
The weather is just about right
And I am chomping at the bit
To enjoy nature naked - naturally!
If people were suppose to be naked
They'd be born that way
: )
I wish you a wonderful naked day!
Peace and Love,

MUSIC: "Big Yellow Taxi" by Joni Mitchell
Memorable Song - Great Message from the 70s
Mitchell said this about writing the song to journalist Alan McDougall in the early 1970s:
"I wrote 'Big Yellow Taxi' on my first trip to Hawaii. I took a taxi to the hotel and when I woke up the next morning, I threw back the curtains and saw these beautiful green mountains in the distance. Then, I looked down and there was a parking lot as far as the eye could see, and it broke my heart...this blight on paradise. That's when I sat down and wrote the song."
"The song is known for its environmental concern -- "They paved paradise to put up a parking lot" and "Hey farmer, farmer, put away that DDT now" -- and sentimental sound. The line "They took all the trees, and put 'em in a tree museum / And charged all the people a dollar and a half(twenty five bucks) just to see 'em." refers to Foster Botanical Garden in downtown Honolulu, which is a living museum of tropical plants, some rare and endangered.
In the song's final verse, the political gives way to the personal. Mitchell recounts the departure of her "old man" in the titular "big yellow taxi", which may refer to the old Metro Toronto Police patrol cars that until 1986 were painted yellow. In many covers the departed one may be interpreted as variously a boyfriend, a husband, or a father. The literal interpretation is that he is walking out on the singer by taking a taxi; otherwise it is assumed he is being taken away by the authorities." (Source)

You are a mirror reflecting a noble face.

Look inside yourself;

Nature's harmony
is around us and within us at all times.
Perceiving it is an occasion for great happiness;
but it is often only appreciated
in retrospector in its absence.
If all is going well in the body,
it tends to go unnoticed.
Your lack of a headache
is not front-page news for your cerebral cortex.
Abilities such as walking, seeing,
thinking, and peeing take care of themselves,
and so blend into the landscape
of automaticity and unawareness.
Only pain or fear or loss
wake us and bring things into focus.
But by then harmony is harder to see,
and we find ourselves caught up
in turbulence, itself containing,
like rapids and waterfalls, order of a more difficult
and subtle level within the river of life.
As Joni Mitchell sings,
"You don't know what you've got till it's gone. . ."

The ubiquitous yin-yang symbol holds its roots in Taoism/Daoism, a Chinese religion and philosophy. The yin, the dark swirl, is associated with shadows, femininity, and the trough of a wave; the yang, the light swirl, represents brightness, passion and growth. John Bellaimey explains why we all contain the spirit of yin and of yang -- and how we can achieve a balance of both in our lives.
